The Kiffness Calls Out Woolworths In An Open Letter After They Switch To A Royalty-Free Streaming Site For Their In-Store Music

David Scott, otherwise known as his stage name The Kiffness, has never been afraid to speak out on important issues pertaining to the local music industry and the country itself. In fact, last year he removed his music from all SABC radio stations after they failed to pay him royalties for an extended period of time. Now, after finding out that local retail chain Woolworths won’t be paying artists a cent for the music they play in store, he has written them an open letter detailing the effects this had on the local music industry.

The star explains the ramifications of this decision in the open letter adding that the decision is in contrast with their ethos of being ‘proudly South African’.
