IF you’re a fan of popular local station 5FM, you might want to carry on reading as the station announced a variety of changes to their on air talent this week. The station revealed that there will be a few additions to the 5FM on-air talent team as a reshuffle shakes things up a little bit – but don’t be alarmed, your faves aren’t going anywhere.
Weekday mornings are about to change if you’re a fan of Jacaranda FM’s The Complimentary Breakfast as sports presenter Robbie Kruse has decided to leave the show. However, fans will still be able to hear the radio personality on their airwaves as he joins popular youth station 5FM as sports presenter on The Roger Goode Show.
Robbie is one of Jacaranda FM’s most popular presenters thanks to his charm and cheerful wit but felt a change was necessary in order to grow within the broadcasting industry. “5FM is an awesome station. I couldn’t think of a more exciting next step,” Robbie told us shortly after announcing that he is joining the popular station. Naturally, 5FM is also excited to welcome Robbie to the Live Loud family. “Robbie’s sport prowess and youthful energy makes him a great fit for the circus that is The Roger Goode Show,” says Station Manager of 5FM, Justine Cullinan.

Fellow Jacaranda FM personality Frankie Du Toit will be joining Tumi Voster and another new addition Linda Mbuso after DJ Warras left the station last month. Frankie will also be taking over Saturday breakfast alongside Nadia Romanos and Jude van Wyk. Justin Toerien will be taking over Sunday breakfast with his new show, Sunday Breakfast with a Cuppa JT. “I am so excited to take over the weekend breakfast show every Sunday. Thomas did an incredible job and I’m looking forward to the challenge of trying to fill his shoes. It’s been a big achievement for me and I cannot wait for the adventure that lies ahead,” says Justin.

Justin will continue to co-host The Thando Thabooty Show with Thando Thabethe which welcomes Sibs Matiyela as newsreader. Sibs will also read news on Hamman Time with Nick Hamman. On joining the station, Sibs says, “To wake up every morning and be able to do what I love is enough of a blessing. But to have an opportunity to do such a thing on 5FM is mind blowing.” Vic Naidoo, who currently hosts All Night Music on Friday – Sunday from 01h00 will now take over Power After Hours which is on air every Monday – Thursday at 01h00, which will see him on air seven days a week. Meanwhile, Das Kapital is easing into his new Sunday evening show In Das We Trust, which has been getting a great response so far. “I’ve been listening to 5FM ever since I could remember. Having my own show on the station now is surreal. The support is already streaming in, and I’m certain we’re about to have a lot of fun together on In Das We Trust,” the DJ says on his new 10pm Sunday show.
It’s an exciting time at 5FM and we’re thrilled about the additions and changes to the line-up. We totally share 5FM’s vision that this will take the station from strength to strength.
