You may remember Tholwana as the winner of 2014’s season of SA’s Got Talent. Since then, she has signed a deal with Sony Music South Africa and has been hard at work recording and writing tracks for her debut studio album. Now, the 15-year-old singer is ready to give the country a taste of her new music and has chosen ‘Hollywood Guy’ as the lead single off her upcoming album.
Tholwana has written a great, catchy track reminiscent of what young stars her age are doing in the United States. The love song talks about Tholwana’s urge to date a boy she’s eyeing and is sick of waiting for him to make a move – something teens around the country can relate to. Her voice has hints of Sia and we love how she goes into a rap towards the end of the track.
The track, produced by FutureKings (Ross Jack and Alex Parker), is the perfect introduction to Tholwana. We love that she seems to have already found her sound. The fact that she composes music like this proves that she has what it takes to become a huge star. The song is available on iTunes now so buy it and support local music!
