No Sound Without Silence (Sony Music)
Breakdown: They’re one of the best live acts in the world today and not only have they announced a South African tour for February next year, but The Script have also just released their fourth album titled ‘No Sound Without Silence’. The album comes preceded by the smash hit single ‘Superheroes’, to which the band shot the video right here in South Africa.
How Many Good Tracks: 6 of the 11.
What I Liked: Not only does Danny, the group’s lead singer, have one of the most amazing voices in the industry today, but he has also written and produced each song on the album proving just how much of an incredible artist he is. The songs each have an underlying subject in which every listener can understand and identify with which is a great quality. I can’t wait to see the band perform these tracks live in February!
What I Didn’t Like: With their previous three albums, growth was clearly seen and I failed to find a great deal of growth on this album which left me quite dissatisfied. The tracks, although good, seem somewhat safe and that’s far from what I would expect from a band like The Script. Listen, the songs are great and are super catchy but the album doesn’t feel finished…
Best Track: Superheroes is the standout on the album but Without Those Songs is fantastic as well.
