Breakdown: She’s one of the greatest songwriters and vocalists on our time and this time around, Sia shakes things up as she releases an album of songs she wrote for other artists – which were ultimately rejected. The album includes the smash hits ‘Alive’ and ‘Cheap Thrills’.
How Many Good Tracks: 6 of the 12.
What I Liked: This album shows just how much of a fantastic songwriter Sia really is. The songs are almost like poetry and the production on the album is strong, bold and really impressive. Sia’s vocals are stronger than ever. Although an album of rejected songs, there is a clear theme throughout the record and there is a reason why each song is included on the album.
What I Didn’t Like: Unfortunately, a large part of the album sounds like the tracks have been rejected. Sia wrote the songs for other artists and fails to make a majority of the tracks her own. This makes the album rather messy and, unfortunately, I don’t feel this record.
