Review: Sia – 1000 Forms Of Fear

Sia
1000 Forms Of Fear (Sony Music)

Breakdown: She’s one of the best songwriters in the business but after taking time off to write for other artists, Sia is back with her sixth studio album titles 1000 Forms Of Fear. The album was preceded by the smash hit Chandelier, which oozed Riri vibes, which has peaked at number six in the UK and number eight in the United States.

How Many Good Tracks: 10 of the 12.

What I Liked: Each and every song on the album paints such a beautiful picture in the mind of the listener. Sia has such a fantastic way with words and she has saved some great material for her own record. The production on the album is also on a very high standard. Sia has stayed true to herself and has released the music she loves instead of going the more pop route on this album as well which shows just how much of a fantastic artist she is.

What I Didn’t Like: While I really enjoyed this album, I think that there are a bit too many ballads on the record. Sia also has such a unique, powerful voice that it sometimes becomes a bit too overbearing. Also, while Chandelier has taken over the charts worldwide, the only other song I see doing well is Big Girls Cry…

Best Track: Big Girls Cry had me hooked from the first ten seconds! Oh, and the way her voice breaks on Hostage gives me goosies!

Rating: 4/5
