Review: Shakira – Shakira.

Shakira
Shakira. (Deluxe Edition) (Sony Music)

Breakdown: She’s been in the game since 1991 and she’s back with her 10th self-titled studio album. The album is the first bilingual album by the star, although most of the tracks are in English. The album comes preceded by her duet with Rihanna titled Can’t Remember To Forget You as well as Empire and her World Cup anthem Dare (La La La).

Tracks We Didn’t Skip: 10 of the 15.

What I Liked: Despite the fact that Can’t remember To Forget You didn’t do as well as expected, this is a rather strong album. Shakira has managed to stay current releasing songs perfect for this day and age. Vocally, there’s no denying the fact that she is absolutely brilliant as well. I like how the album manages to cross a variety of genres yet still feel complete. An impressive album by the beauty.

What I Didn’t Like: While I enjoyed the album, I feel as if I got bored by the end of the record. I’m not sure what it is but Shakira fails to keep me interested for long periods of time.

Best Track: The One Thing NEEDS to be released as a single!

Rating: 3.5/5
