Birds of a feather flock together in this colourful masterpiece.
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway
Plot: After finding the girl of his dreams, things can’t be better for Blu! He has three gorgeous children, a bunch of friends and, of course, his human Linda. While Linda and her new husband explore the Amazon rainforest looking for more of Blu’s kind, Jewel convinces Blu and the kids to head over to the Amazon for a holiday not realizing she would find her flock. Blu’s nemesis Nigel, however, tracks them down and tries to take the family down for good. This, along with the fact that humans are tearing down the rainforest sets Blu out on his greatest adventure yet!
Remarks: It’s been three years since the release of Rio and, to be honest, I wasn’t too excited when I heard that the film was getting a sequel because I didn’t get the hype thay surrounded the first movie. With this sequel, however, that all changed. I loved Blu and his little family and I loved how Blu tested himself and did a whole bunch of things that was better for his family – although he was frightened. The story is sweet and proved that even someone who isn’t a “bird’s bird” and was raised by humans can save the day. Nigel’sharacter still rocks my socks but his new sidekick Gabi the frog is the cutest thing I have seen in an animation since the minions in Despicable Me. The film will leave you with that fuzzy feeling in your heart and that’s what any animation sets out to do. A huge improvement from the first installment.
