History has never been cooler!
Starring: Ty Burrell and Max Charles
Plot: Mr. Peabody is a business titan, inventor, scientist, gourmand, two-time Olympic medalist and genius…who also happens to be a dog. Using his most ingenious invention, the WABAC machine, Mr. Peabody and his adopted boy Sherman hurtle back in time to experience world-changing events first-hand and interact with some of the greatest characters of all time. But when Sherman breaks the rules of time travel, our two heroes find themselves in a race to repair history and save the future, while Mr. Peabody may face his biggest challenge yet – being a parent.
Remarks: Dreamworks has done it again! Mr. Peabody & Sherman is bound to be a hit with children all around the world! The plot is cute and I think the fact that a dog adopted a boy will definitely lead to tons of laughs. I also loved the fact that history was brought into the film and would hopefully lead to kinds wanting to find out more about Cleopatra, Leonardo Da Vinci, Marie Antoinette and the Trojan War. The characters are also animated excellently and I think a lot of kids can identify with the bullying aspect the film focuses on. Sherman and Penny, the girl who bullied him, go on an adventure of epic proportions and it shows how letting go with someone can lead to unexpected adventures. The film, however, became a bit stale halfway through. It’s not a film like Shrek or Madagascar where you can’t wait to watch it again as the credits role, but I do think it has the potential to top the box office.
Rating: 3/5
Mr. Peabody & Sherman releases on March 20th 2014.
