Review: Lost&Found – Lost & Found

Lost & Found

Lost&Found
Lost & Found (Gallo Music)

Breakdown: Local group Lost&Found describe themselves as an alternative country band and they have just dropped their debut self-titled single and album. The group is a collaborative project by Glen Hodgson of The Parlotones and Jason Oosthuizen of The Black Cat Bones.

How Many Good Tracks: 4 of the 10.

What I Liked: I love when musicians come together and explore their passion for music in ways they are unable to alone. The band is something different and I am all for diversity. There is a beautiful energy to the band and the passion for their music shines out of the songs. Lyrically, the album is very strong and the songs are unlike anything either two musicians would release via their respective bands. The album also has some exciting guests who assist with everything from lead guitar to backing vocals, trumpets, bass guitar and more.

What I Didn’t Like: If we’re honest with each other, the album tends to become rather monotonous. The duo found a sound that spoke to them and they didn’t experiment or stray from that all too much. Vocally, there are also a few moments on the album where Glen seems to struggle. Unfortunately, I don’t think this album is going to be one that people remember.

Best Track: Learning How To Lie

Rating: 2/5
