Jessie Ware
Tough Love (Univerdsal Music)
Breakdown: English singer Jessie Ware is back with her second studio album ‘Tough Love’. The artist has received a great amount of compliments because of her smooth yet powerful voice and this album is all of that and more. The album comes preceded by singles ‘Tough Love’ and ‘Say You Love Me’ and sees the artist collaborate with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco and Miguel in the writing process.
How Many Good Tracks: 16 of the 11.
What I Liked: This album is so unique. The songs are put together brilliantly and is something incredibly different in the music scene at the moment. Jessie’s voice can easily give one chills with it’s delicacy and power. The album is also very open and honest and it’s great to see Jessie exposing herself like this. She’s got a new fan in me.
What I Didn’t Like: This isn’t your typical pop album and pop lovers will take quite a few spins to connect to the music. The tracks also seem to follow the same recipe and after listening to the sixth song, the music almost becomes predictable. The album is a step up from her previous album but I don’t think this record will gain her that many new fans.
