The Broadway show finally comes to life on the big screen.
Starring: John Lloyd Young and Vincent Piazza
Plot: We all know and love the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and now, the famous Broadway show hits the big screen. The film takes a look at the band, the rise, the hardships and personal clashes, and the ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music was loved, and is still loved by many. Their story is incredibly fascinating and while most of the film focuses on lead singer Frankie Valli, the film also looks at the Italian culture in New Jersey from the 1950’s. Naturally, the film is also full of the songs we love.
Remarks: While it’s undeniable that the Broadway production is infinitely better than the film, you can’t help but walk out the cinema smiling. The actors exert such a passion and it really shows. The film was also shot exceptionally well and I love how the editing brought the look and feel of that time. Naturally, a film like this is nothing without it’s set and damn, did they do a good job with this. I do think that the film was a bit too long but I guess that doesn’t really matter when you have such a hot soundtrack to go along with it. The narration in the film was also shot so exceptionally. If you’re a fan of the music or the production, get yourself to a cinema ASAP!
