Review: Into The Storm

A storm film so real you will find yourself ducking for cover in the cinema.

Starring: Richard Armitage and Sarah Wayne Callies

Plot: In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes that no one saw coming. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex. The storm tests the people of Silverton and see exactly what they do in a time of crisis. Will they risk their lives for the ones they love or will they will go as far as letting others die so that they get that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Remarks: I know what you’re thinking… Another storm movie? Well, yes, Into The Storm is exactly that. The film, however, has something to it that just keeps you on the edge of your seat. Whether it be the beautiful love story, a quest a father goes to save his son or the pure selfishness a man goes to get a shot of a lifetime. That, along with amazing special effects makes this film a must-see. The characters have pure heart and are super reliable but I loved how real the set looked and how mad the tornadoes actually looked in the film. The film really manages to hook the viewer into it’s storyline. I also liked how new actors had a chance to shine in the film such as Jeremy Sumpter, who played Peter Pan in the 2003 film and J.D. in Friday Night Lights as well as Nathan Kress from Nickelodeon’s iCarly. Definitely a film to watch.

Rating: 4/5

Into The Storm releases on September 5th, 2014.
