Breakdown: It feels like we’ve been waiting ages for Florence + The Machine to release their third studio album but it’s finally here! The album already has the smash hit singles ‘Ship To Wreck’ and ‘What Kind of Man’ proving that the band are back with a bang!
How Many Good Tracks: 7 of the 11.
What I Liked: There is something incredibly special about this band. Many of the tracks are raw and honest and Florence Welch takes past moments from her life and sings about them with such passion, angst and emotion. The band managed to stick to their signature sound, however, they do it so differently on this record and you can tell that the band have grown since they released their last album back in 2011. Each track on the album has a theme listeners are able to relate to and with the incredibly lyrics bringing this brilliant music to life.
What I Didn’t Like: The album is much darker than their previous release ‘Ceremonials’ and the record seems to lose that bit of commercial aspect that made millions of people fall in love with the band. We’re hoping DJs such as Calvin Harris come on board and remix some of the tracks on this record to add that extra spark to their music.
