Review: Endless Love

A story that will make you believe in love again.

Starring: Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde

Plot: In this 2014 remake of the popular Tom Cruise film, Alex Pettyfer (David) and Gabriella Wilde (Jade) star in the story of a privileged girl and a charismatic boy whose instant desire sparks a love affair made only more reckless by parents trying to keep them apart.

Remarks: This film shows how a summer fling could be so much more if it just gets the chance to evolve. Sure, it’s that typical clichéd love story of a privileged girl who falls in love with a boy who’s working at his dad’s shop trying to find his feet. The girl’s dad wants her to go study but she wants to spend more time with him and that, of course, drives the father mad. As predictable as that is, the story takes on a different view of this Romeo and Juliet scenario. I love how much passion David had for Jade. Alex did a fantastic job portraying that and it really isn’t an easy thing to do. Gabriella didn’t wow me but I couldn’t stop staring at her super-long arms. The film had a great soundtrack as well and really lifted and lowered the audience’s emotion at just the right time. I doubt this will smash the local box office but it’s a super romantic feel good film.

Rating: 3/5

Endless Love releases on April 25th 2014.
