Breakdown: They’re the band behind the smash hit ‘Cool Kids’ and American band Echosmith have finally released their debut album ‘Talking Dreams’ in South Africa. The band are new to the scene and have only released two tracks off the record so far. They did, however, fail to land in the Billboard’s Top 100 albums on the week of release.
How Many Good Tracks:7 of the 12.
What I Liked: The band are made up of four siblings and they seem to remind me a lot of Taylor Swift’s new stuff. Also, these kids are so young with the youngest being only 12 years old. The fact that they delivered such a solid debut on their own at their age is fantastic. The album is fun, energetic and also shows their softer side which I really enjoyed.
What I Didn’t Like: When listening to the record, many of the songs start to blend together and that shows a lack of creativity from the band at times. Also, being just 16, lead singer Sydney’s voice still has a lot of growing to do. But hell, she’s already so talented at just 16! The album is a fantastic debut and I can’t wait to watch them grow.
Best Track: OMG… Admit it, you can’t get ‘Cool Kids’ out of your head either.
