Review: Blake Shelton – If I’m Honest

Blake Shelton
If I’m Honest (Warner Music)

Breakdown: He’s one of the biggest names in country music and in between shooting episodes for one of the hottest shows in the world, The Voice, Blake Shelton recorded his brand new 10th studio album ‘If I’m Honest’ – and it’s one of his most personal yet!

How Many Good Tracks: 10 of the 15.

What I Liked: Blake Shelton isn’t one of the biggest acts in country music for no reason. He has managed to create a record that will appeal to every fan of the genre. The album is a perfect mix of ballads and up-tempo country tracks. This is an incredibly personal album for Blake and touches on his divorce from Miranda Lambert and his new relationship with Gwen Stefani. So, Blake comes to the party lyrically and it’s great to see him opening up like this. The production on the album is also lovely with a variety of country sounds that fit his voice like a glove. The album is raw, honest and is filled with a great collection of songs.

What I Didn’t Like: Sure, this is one of Blake’s most personal albums but there isn’t anything I’ve never seen from the star on the album. You know exactly what you’re going to get before even hitting the play button.

Best Track: A Guy With A Girl

Rating: 3,5/5
