Breakdown: He’s one of the biggest electronic music acts in the world and the Dutch DJ, Armin Van Buuren, has just dropped his sixth studio album ‘Embrace’. The album has spawned many hit singles in the world of dance including lead single ‘Another You’ which features vocals from Mr Probz.
How Many Good Tracks: 9 of the 15.
What I Liked: Armin Van Buuren is an incredible DJ and this record proves just that. His production is phenomenal and has really pushed himself creatively on this record. The DJ has created some commercial, radio-friendly jams as well as some more hardcore dance tracks which will ensure fans of both types of dance music will be satisfied. Armin has also enlisted the help of artists like Mr Probz, Gavin DeGraw, Cosmic Gate, Rock Mafia, Hardwell and many more. Each of these artists bring something different to the record. “The idea was to ‘EMBRACE’ several different instruments and sounds, and incorporate them into my sound,” Armin said on the album – and that’s exactly what he did.
What I Didn’t Like: The album lacks a ‘wow’ factor. Sure, there are some great songs on the album but it’s not something too different to what else is out there at the moment. I would have liked to see him take more risks with his music this time around.
