American singer, Halsey, has been hailed as one of the hottest new artists for 2016. Not only is her single ‘New Americana’ a smash hit on local radio but she also teamed up with Justin Bieber on a track called ‘The Feeling’ off his latest record ‘Purpose’. Now, the singer is preparing the release of the next single off her ‘Badlands’ album – a track called ‘Colors’.
Halsey has become known for her ability to tell a story with her music. Lyrically, Halsey has a very unique way of writing and this song is a perfect example of this. Although her music is a bit dark, she still manages to create catchy pop music with a twist – something that helps her stand out from the crowd. “It’s just my creative colour. It’s like so many things at once,” Halsey explains. “It’s electric, and it’s bright, but it’s also calm. It’s also ethereal. Blue is just an otherworldly colour to me. Blue is the sky. Blue is the sea. Blue for me represents the unexplored territory.”
I love how Halsey thinks out of the box, yet still creates music that is popular enough to be played on radio. The electropop track is a perfect example that Halsey is a fantastic artist and we’re expecting that 2016 will be a huge year for her.
