Locnville have done incredible things since dropping their debut single ‘Sun In My Pocket’ back in early 2010. Now, almost six years later, Brian and Andrew Chaplin have announced their first greatest hits record titled ‘Locnville vs LCNVL: The Hits’.

The boys have been in L.A for the past year and have just returned to South Africa for a local tour. To commemorate their tour the guys have released a collection of singles encompassing all their hits from Locnville and their pseudonym LCNVL. The Hits includes ‘Sun In My Pocket’, ‘6 Second Poison’, ‘Love Rush’, ‘Desperado’, ‘Closer’, ‘Pop Ya Like a’ and many more.

The album, which drops on iTunes this Friday, sees the boys come full circle. Over the years, Locnville have reinvented themselves a number of times and having all their banging tracks on one album shows just how far they’ve come. While Locnville have been working on new music, this album does not feature any of that. Instead, the boys will kick-start the year with some new material that they promise is worth the wait.

“It’s quite flattering to see how many hits we’ve been able to come out with in the past 5 years and this is a bit of a nostalgic reminder of why we got into this in the first place,” Locnville told me. “It’s a great journey to actually listen to the progression in the sound and lyrical content. It’s a genuine mark of half a decade of being in the industry professionally and we also view it as a great way to ‘re-invent’ ourselves again by closing one chapter and opening another for the next leg of the journey.”
