DJ Lag continues to prove that he has that magic touch when it comes to creating world-class dance music and as he prepares to release his debut album ‘Meeting with the King’, the producer has tapped Lady Du for the first single off the project – a track titled ‘Lucifer’.
The track is the first of three ahead of the album’s 5 November release date and brings together elements of Amapiano, Afro House and Afro Tech in a way which the producer has dubbed Gqom 2.0.
The single is set to be accompanied by a new video that enhances the track’s slow build, unforgettable vocals, and wondrously hypnotic flow. “This song speaks about people coming into a cleaner spirit and not allowing the things of the world to consume them,” says Lady Du. “When we recorded the song, there were so many things happening around us and Lag and I thought we should take that and put it in a song and teach people to pray. It doesn’t directly say pray but it says ‘let’s be positive, let’s be on one bus and have a positive mind’.”
DJ Lag, who is also an ambassador for the upcoming VW Golf 8 GTI On Tour events around the country, will release the project’s second single ‘Raptor’ on 1 October and ‘Destiny’ on 15 October.
