Dan Duminy Returns With Honest, Soul-Stirring New Single ‘Mixed Signals’

South African pop talent Dan Duminy is back with his latest single, ‘Mixed Signals,’ a raw and emotionally charged track that finds the artist at his most vulnerable yet. Known for his collaborations with heavyweights like Nasty C, Tellaman, and Blxckie, Duminy continues to carve out a space for himself as one of the country’s most honest and compelling pop storytellers.

Marking his first release since April’s ‘Lost Without You,’ the new single dives into the murky space where love and confusion collide. “The song came from a place of frustration and vulnerability — that moment when someone’s words and actions just don’t match,” Dan explains. “It’s about being caught in the middle, caring deeply for someone but not getting the clarity you need. It’s real, it’s raw, and I think a lot of people have been there.”

Produced alongside longtime collaborator Jordan James, ‘Mixed Signals’ blends pop melodies with darker, cinematic undertones, creating a soundscape that mirrors the emotional tension of its lyrics. The duo’s creative chemistry shines through, balancing introspection with impact. “Jordan knows me better than anyone, so he really helped me pull out the most honest version of this song,” Dan shares. “He added textures that gave it depth — it hits harder but still feels completely authentic.”

The single also sets the tone for Duminy’s upcoming EP, which promises to showcase both his sonic evolution and personal growth. “This year has been about clarity, finding my lane and making music that’s true to who I am,” he says. “There’ve been highs and lows, but every challenge has shaped me into a stronger artist and person.”

With ‘Mixed Signals’ serving as the first taste of a new era, Duminy is ready to take his sound, and story, to the next level. “It feels like everything I’ve been working toward is finally aligning,” he says. “The EP, the music, the shows, it’s all coming together. 2026 is going to be a breakthrough year.”
