YES!! This will be flipping brilliant! The folks over at Comedy Central will officially be roasting pop sensation Justin Bieber at their next roasting. “The Roast of Justin Bieber” will be taped in Los Angeles in the next few weeks before airing on the comedy channel later this year.
“Justin has been asking us for a few years to roast him, and we just kept telling him to go create more source material first. We’re thrilled he listened,” said Kent Alterman, President, Content Development & Original Programming, Comedy Central.
Added Evert van der Veer, Head of Comedy Central, Africa, “The Roast franchise just keeps getting better and better – just when you’re thinking ‘who else is there left to roast?’, we go and secure a pop culture phenomenon like Justin – a stroke of ‘unbeliebable’ comic genius!”
Justin will add his name to an already impressive list of celebrities who have been roasted such as Charlie Sheen, David Hasselhoff, Joan Rivers, Rosanne Arnold, Kenny Kunene, Donald Trump and Steve Hofmeyer.
The pop star revealed that he approached Comedy Central a while ago for the opportunity to be roasted. “Justin has been asking us for years to roast him, so we kept telling him to create some more material and we’re thrilled he listened.”
Justin certainly has a lot to be roasted about and we can’t wait to find out who will join the roasting team. This is a special I am very excited about.
